The Mittelstand 4.0 Kompetenzzentrum Siegen supports small and medium-sized enterprises in South Westphalia, the Ruhr region and beyond in their digitalization efforts. The focus is always on the employees.

The services offered by the Competence Center are free of charge and vendor-neutral. The team shows small and medium-sized companies, for example, various assistance systems and options for new, digital technology. It also offers companies concrete solutions when it comes to employee-friendly IT systems and concepts for digitization projects.

The Mittelstand 4.0 Kompetenzzentrum Siegen has been in existence since October 2017. The employees support small and medium-sized companies in South Westphalia and beyond with questions and problems relating to digitization.

Why South Westphalia in particular?

It has the third-highest number of manufacturing SMEs in Germany. They often lack the right idea of what to start with when it comes to digitization. The Mittelstand 4.0 Kompetenzzentrum Siegen helps them find the right digital solutions. The service is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises at every stage of digitization.

Who is part of the competence center?

The University of Siegen, the University of Applied Sciences Südwestfalen, the Ruhr University Bochum and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT) together form the Mittelstand 4.0 Kompetenzzentrum Siegen.
